BLUE CORNER FREEDIVING & FLUID FOCUS RETREAT
FREEDIVING & YOGA
Friday 21st February 2020
No trip to Bali is complete without a visit to its neighbouring islands of Nusa Lembongan, Ceningan and Penida. When Bali becomes a bit hectic, you are looking for a quiet surf break or to explore the reefs. Whether you're a surfer, scuba diver or yogi, Nusa Lembongan is a must on any travellers list while in Indonesia. Lembongan is only a 30-minute boat ride from Sanur and remains one of the top tourist hot spots for scuba diving, surfing and yoga.
Both Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida are scattered with healthy reef systems boasting an incredible variety of underwater life, clear blue water and majestic megafauna, including Manta Rays and Molas.
Ever heard of freediving? Freediving is heavily trending with scuba divers, yogis and surfers alike, as it offers a different perspective of the underwater world.
During my trip, I was approached by Cam, one of the local Freediving Instructors over at Blue Corner Freedive. Blue Corner is Nusa Lembongan’s first PADI Freediver Centre, and specialises in beginner level freedive training, recreational freediving and the new Fluid Focus Freedive Retreats - read more below! Cam describes freediving as an art of 'underwater meditation' that anyone can learn.
Before I knew Cam, freediving was a sport I'd never even considered to give ago but having since completed the PADI Beginner Freediving course, I can honestly say freediving is a great way to look a bit deeper into your own mind and body, while still enjoying the warm tropical water teeming with life.
Blue Corner Dive
Blue Corner Freedive is part of Blue Corner Dive, one of the oldest and most recognized SCUBA shops on the island. Aiming to provide guests with the ultimate diving and freediving experience, they pride themselves on safety standards and quality instruction.
If you are a certified Freediver already, recreational freediving trips can be arranged to explore the beautiful reefs around the islands, or to see Manta Rays. From newbie to expert, they can arrange a trip for you.
For those who, like me, have never tried Freediving before, Blue Corner Freedive is the perfect place to do it.

Where to stay?
Fluid Focus Freedive Retreat
New to 2020, Blue Corner Freedive is bringing it's first Fluid Focus Freediving Retreat. A retreat combining freediving, yoga and creativity, alongside luxury accommodation and healthy food in partnership with Ombak Zero Waste Cafe.
Freediving is a way of accessing creative energy you never knew you had and motivating yourself to excel in many aspects of your life. The Fluid Focus Retreat, combines the fundamentals of freediving, with a wide array of topics that apply to everyday life.
This “retreat" is created with the concept that everyone can learn to freedive, and by doing so, can change their lives for the better. It's not about aiming for depth, or numbers - it's challenging yourself to do the more difficult thing and focus on the process of getting there. Plus, you'll be freediving with the mantas, some turtles, even a shipwreck or two - but sometimes just outright in the Blue.
